In keeping the competition spirit alive and well, Merecedes-Benz has announced the expansion of its Alabama plant to produce its new Mercedes-Benz MLC crossover to compete with the BMW X6.

The company has just confirmed that the upcoming Mercedes-Benz MLC crossover will be manufactured at the Alabama plant, and already the company has set $350 million of investment money aside for the expansion of the plant.

The new expansion of Mercedes-Benz Alabama plant will be used to build the all-new Mercedes-Benz MLC crossover along with nine other all-new models, which will be released over the next four years. So far, Mercedes-Benz has not revealed details of the new Mercedes-Benz MLC crossover, but we expect it to be based on the M-Class SUV; with similar engine and trim level packages.

Once the expansion of the plant is up and running, the production for the Mercedes-Benz MLC crossover is set to start in 2015.
