We know that Texas is the state of trucks, and to get a truck award from Texas is an honor indeed. But the 2012 Ford F-150 did not just get one award, it got handed with a bunch of honorary awards from the Texas Auto Writers Association.
The 2012 Ford F-150 pickup took home the Truck of Texas award by topping out its competitors at the annual Truck Rodeo, which is the association’s most prestigious honor. In addition, TAWA named the EcoBoost engine technology its best vehicle feature along with the entire Ford pickup line was named the Truck Line of Texas. In total, Ford took home seven awards, including the best heavy-duty, luxury and full-size pickup trucks.
Among the contenders, there were 48 vehicles showed up for the TAWA Truck Rodeo competition, and about 57 car writers evaluated the trucks and SUVs.
