The future Mazda6 may have a new design, and from the looks of the new Mazda Takeri concept, it will have the new Kodo design language as well. Mazda plans to roll out the new Mazda Takeri concept at the coming up 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, and with the Mazda6 on its last cycle year, its future is destined to have a new skin that may be similar to the Mazda Takeri concept.
The midsize sedan Mazda Takeri concept is designed with Mazda’s latest Kodo design language. It features the new SkyActiv-D diesel engine in form of a 2.2-liter twin-turbo four-cylinder with a lowered compression ratio to improve fuel efficiency by as much as 20% than a conventional diesel engine. To further enhance fuel efficiency, it also comes with stop-start engine technology and regenerative braking.
Mazda’s new theme for the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show is to provide environmental technology and become harmonious with the environment. Whatever that means, but one thing is for sure, the new Mazda Takeri concept will make one tantalizing sedan that is hard to pass by.
The Mazda Takeri concept car will be officially unveiled at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center on November 30th along with other KODO designed vehicles such as the new Mazda CX-5 crossover SUV and Shinari Concept (future Mazda RX-9?).
If the future Mazda6 developed similar to the Mazda Takeri concept, it will be one hot sedan indeed.
