Normally we get new the releases of the BMW M3 in a coupe version, but it isn’t the case this time around. BMW has already released an M Sports Package version of the BMW 3 Series, and it is likely will be the replacement for the new 2012 M3 version.
According to a few sources, the next-generation BMW M3 be less edgier and will lose some of it sporty features. Why is this the case? Well, BMW is planning to make the two-door M3 coupe as an M4 model, which will be the top-gun version. So from a marketing perspective, toning down the next-generation BMW M3 coupe is right thing to do. Also another reason is that there may not be a coupe or convertible 2012 BMW M3 all together for the U.S. market.
Have no fear, like we said earlier, the BMW M3 coupe will just be called as an M4. According to BMW, it stated that it will be turning the two-door version of the 3 Series into a 4 Series, and it will be more inline with the 5 Series and 6 Series.
As for the powertrain for the new 2012 BMW M3, it will like get the new twin-turbo six-cylinder engine. So basically, BMW is making more models of the same stuff for 2012.
