2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe with first officially teased photos


The arrival of the new 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is not too far away, and we already have seen many spy photos of the production model. But today, the Hyundai company has slipped out two teaser official photos of the new 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe for the first time.

Just as expected from earlier spy photos of the 2013 Genesis Coupe, much of the design cue from the new Hyundai Veloster such that it comes completely with a similar front fascia. Here we see the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe gets stylized headlights with LED fog lights nestled low in the front fascia. The result of the body sculpture of the new 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is based on the new design language from Hyundai to make it looks more aggressive yet elegant.

As for the powertrain, the new 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is expected to get a revised 3.8-liter V6 engine, and it may also get a supercharged V6 engine as well.

The 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will debut at the 2011 LA Auto Show next week, we’ll have more official details by then, so stay tuned.

Just last week, we have seen the teaser photos of the new 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, and now Hyundai has released the first official images of the car before its debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.  In addition, Hyundai has given us a few details on the engines as well.

Starting with the base 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, it is now produced 271 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. That’s a huge increase in the power band compared to the current base model’s 210 hp and 223 lb-ft torque. While the new 3.8 liter V6 has received large amount of power as well, which is now produced a 345 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. That’s an increase of 39 hp and 29 lb-ft of torque over the outgoing V6 engine. There is also news that a supercharged V6 engine in the works as well. It will be interesting to see the new 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe to go head to head with the Mustang GT again.

Both engines for the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will be available with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or 6-speed automatic transmission. In addition, an optional 8-speed automatic transmission will be available as well.
