Seems like Nissan is trying to get acceptance for its Juke crossover. Last week we’ve seen the Nissan Juke-R, and now the performance group of Nissan Nismo will be introducing its own version as well. Like we know most about Nissan cars that came out of this division, it is going to be a lot of power stuffing under the hood. That reminds us to finish off the turkey stuffing left in the fridge before it goes bad.
Back to the Nissan Juke, the new Nissan Juke Nismo Concept crossover while not nearly GT-R or Fairly Lady spec, it does represent Nissan Nismo’s performance racing heritage, well, sort of. So far, all we know that it is come with Nismo-developed aero kit, which includes revised front and rear lower bumpers, fenders and side skirts. And in the interior, it gets sports steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and a sports shifter.
“As the Concept shows, Nismo brings new levels of individuality to mainstream Nissan cars like Juke. The future for Nismo is to develop premium sports designs for an ever-widening range of customers,” said Nismo President, Shoichi Miyatani.
Meanwhile in the suspension department, the Nissan Juke Nismo Concept crossover is lowered with stiffer springs along with 19-inch alloy wheels to fill up the fender gaps. As we mentioned earlier regarding the power stuffing on Nismo cars, the Nissan Juke Nismo Concept crossover will get some tuning to its direct-injected 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. So far, Nissan hasn’t spilled the beans on the power output as the result of the engine tweak.
Nevertheless, the Nissan Juke Nismo Concept crossover will make its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show next week, and we will know for sure what this crossover can do. BMW X3 crossover contender? Not anytime soon. As for now, Nissan is sticking at trying to make the Juke crossover looking good.
