Mazda Motor Corporation today announced that it has commenced production of the Mazda2 (known as Mazda Demio in Japan) at the new passenger car plant at AutoAlliance Thailand Co., Ltd. (AAT).  The ATT is a joint venture manufacturing facility with Ford Motor Company, and it the production of the Mazda2 will be sold only in the ASEAN markets.  A ceremony was held at in Rayong’s Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate in celebration of the production of the new passenger car Mazda2.  The Mazda2 is looks almost identical to the Ford Fiesta.
