@vincent van, in early 2010 we knew the viper was not being ceased YET in terms of production or else where would the dodge viper ACR and ACR X be? 2009 was a wrong date then and also is now.
we knew since 2008 when gen 4 vipers where released that it took LESS than 4 seconds, and by now every viper fan knows the routine, chrysler have issues, vipers threatend to get axed, then comes revived and more powerful, vibrant etc, this has happened since gen 2, and the dodge viper has a halo car, not supposed to make a huge load a sales, its an icon, an if it becomes popular, will be simply "another supercar".... points 1 2 and 3 i stated correctly regardless of the timeline of this post, and point 4 was just me merely stating that a new one is in the works if people did not know....

You commented a post that is dated in 2010. Much have change since then, and we even thought Chrysler was a sure goner back then if it wasn't for the government bailout. We now know that the 2012 Viper is in the works. Check other related posts.
