New 2012 Fiat Panda gets ready for the masses

Fiat is getting ready to make the new 2012 Fiat Panda available since its introduction at the Frankfurt Motor Show in last September. The company has just released full imagery of the compact car with confirmed specs as well.

The 2012 Fiat Panda is the third version of the Panda model since its introduction 31 years ago. The brand new model retains a lot of similarities to its predecessor but with a modern look and updated technologies. Altogether, the Fiat Panda had a very successful run, with about 6.5 million units sold in Europe over the past 31 years.

Today, the new 2012 Fiat Panda with its compact size, fuel saver and economical prices remain the main attractions that customers are willing to buy this new model again.

By design, the 2012 Fiat Panda is a five door subcompact car that can easily maneuver through narrow city streets. It is measured at 3,650 mm long, 1,640 mm wide and 1,550 mm tall for more passenger space, which is slightly larger than its predecessor. It is powered with a slew range of small engines, which includes two TwinAir 0.9-liter two-cylinder gasoline engines in naturally aspirated (65 horsepower) and turbocharged (85 horsepower) versions, a 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine producing 69 horsepower, a 1.3-liter Multijet diesel producing 75 horsepower that comes with auto stop-start technology, a 0.9-liter turbocharged gasoline/methane engine, and a  1.2-liter gasoline/LPG engine.

The new 2012 Fiat Panda with front-wheel drive will be available at launch date, and a Fiat Panda 4×4 will be available by next year.
