Toyota has officially announced today that the all-new 2012 Toyota Prius C will start under $19,000, and that is a very attractive price indeed for many who have been waiting for this fuel-miser and versatile car.

Starting with the base model 2012 Prius C One, it is priced at $18,950, not including a $760 destination charge. And if you are desiring for the top-of-the-line model called the Prius C Four, it will cost you around $23,000. That is still a good deal for this versatile car with an estimated US EPA fuel economy rating of 53/46/50 miles per gallon (city/hwy/combined), and no electrical plug is needed, which makes it the highest rated city fuel economy of any vehicle without a plug. Just imagine if Toyota would come out with a plug-in hybrid model in the future, we figure it would go up as much as 70 miles per gallon.

The 2012 Toyota Prius C will be available in four trim levels: One, Two, Three and Four, with the later comes with the most features and options. Along with the standard equipment (automatic climate control, Bluetooth phone controls and remote keyless entry), the Toyota Prius C Four also comes with fog lights and optional 16-inch wheels as compared to the standard 15-inch wheels found on other trim levels. In addition, the Prius C Four is the only model that is available with heated front seats.

The much awaited 2012 Toyota Prius C goes on sale in March, and orders have already begun.
