There was no doubt in our mind and just as we have predict that there will be an AMG version when Mercedes-Benz debuted the SL-Class at the Detroit Auto Show in January. While debuting its new Formula One racing car called the W03 F1 in Barcelona for the 2012 Formula One World Championship, Mercedes-Benz took the opportunity to introduce its new 2013 Mercedes AMG SL63 Roadster as well.
The new sports car is based on the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, and here we got is a fresh rare look at the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG Roadster for the first time. The new New Mercedes-Benz AMG SL63 Roadster is fitted with the new M157 twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine producing about 529 horsepower.
With a 242-pound lighter weight than the previous model, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz AMG SL63 Roadster can launch from 0-62 mph in just 4.3 second. And with the option AMG Performance Package, it can do the sprint in 4.2 second while still providing a 30 percent more fuel efficient than the previous model as well.
Mercedes-Benz hasn’t released information about the pricing or availability yet on the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG Roadster, but we expect it to cost at least $30,000 more than the standard version and will be available in the summer of this year.
