Recently, we got a few spy photo and patent drawing of the new Volvo V40, but this is a first time we got a full glimpse of it. The images of the new Volvo V40 got leaked on Facebook page of MotoryzacyjnyVolvo.
So far, we like the look of the Volvo V40, as a matter of fact, this is probably the best looking car from Volvo in a very long time. Although the car’s front fascia has similar design as the S60, but the windshield is steeply raked along with more tapered hindquarters to make it looks more sporty.
Is Volvo adding the Volvo V40 to its lineup or the company is planning to replace out the Volvo V50 wagon? With name as “V40”, we can expect Volvo is adding it to the lineup instead.
So far, we don’t have the technical details on this wagon yet. But after this leak and the 2012 Geneva Motor Show coming in a few weeks from now, we can expect Volvo to make an official announcement of the Volvo V40 soon. So, stay tuned.
Here is an update of a few technical specs for the Volvo V40 hatchback. It will be equipped with a turbocharged 5-cylinder engine producing 254 horsepower, and mated to either a manual gearbox or automatic transmission. The Volvo V40 is capable of sprinting from 0-62 mph in 6.7 seconds, which is not bad for a hatchback. So right off the bat, we can assume the Volvo V40 will be a sport hatchback.
In addition, the engine will feature a start-stop engine management system along with a regenerative braking system to help with the fuel efficiency.
