General Motors is touting with the idea of a twin-turbo V6 engine for the Camaro. We saw the twin-turbo Camaro at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, but to get to see it out on the road is a really treat courtesy of Jay Leno’s Garage.
From the specs, the twin-turbo V6 Camaro produces about 420 horsepower. That is near the power range of the V8 engine Camaro. Although you wouldn’t get instantaneous acceleration as the V8 engine, but with a lighter weight and more fuel efficient V6 engine, the twin-turbo V6 Camaro is more nimble and easier on the wallet at the pump.
Currently, the Chevrolet Camaro with twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 engine is just a show car. And if there is enough interest, GM will definitely build one in the future. Given the current gas prices hovering at around $4.00, the twin-turbocharged Camaro will do well with many car enthusiasts.
At Carguide Blog, we say, build the darn thing already! Anyhow, enjoy the video as Jay Leno takes you for a ride in the twin-turbo V6 Chevrolet Camaro.
