2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG brings out the V12 power

Are you ready for some massive power output from a V12 engine? Mercedes-Benz has just announced the new 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG for the 2012 New York Auto Show, which will start in April 6th for the public.

The new 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG roadster really brings some big power to the AMG line. If the V12 engine wasn’t enough, Mercedes-Benz also threw in two turbos for this engine. Together, the twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine cranks out 621 horsepower and a massive 738 pound-feet of torque.  That is plenty of power to tow your recreation boat around, although we wouldn’t recommend it. The engine is coupled with a 7-speed AMG Speedshift transmission.

No performance numbers have been released yet, but we expect the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG with a 4,300 pound curb weight can do a ‘0-60 mph’ in about 4.4 seconds. With this massive power output, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG will be your ultimate driving machine, not the BMW M5.

So, what else is there beside the massive power? To maintain the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG as a luxury sedan, it comes with Magic Sky Roof, Airscarf, speed-sensitive steering and a sport suspension that adjusts according to Mercedes’ Active Body Control system. In the interior, it gets soft leather and the latest infotainment software to control a Bang & Olufsen surround sound system and everything else.

No words on the pricing of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG yet, but we expect it to be around the $200,000 range.  More details will be revealed when it debuts at the 2012 New York Auto Show next month.

That is a whole lot of power for this luxury roadster. Isn’t a roadster for cruising? I mean do you need that much horsepower to begin with?
