If you have been following the development of the new 2013 Dodge Viper SRT sports car since earlier last year, then you are in for a teaser treat from Chrysler. The company is planning to introduce a more balanced Dodge Viper in 2013.
What we mean by balance is that the car will be more easy to handle. Unlike the harsh manner of the old Dodge Viper SRT with its jerky shifts and out of control power, the new 2013 Dodge Viper SRT will have more mannerism of the Corvette ZR-1. We are crossing our fingers on this one. But one thing is for sure, traction control will be used for the first time in the 2013 Viper SRT as mandated by federal law.
Anyhow Chrysler has managed to squeeze in teaser photo to let us get a glimpse of the new 2013 Viper SRT. Even though last month we got a spy photo of the new 2013 Dodge Viper SRT out in testing, but its front end was covered. And from the sketch of this teaser image, we do see that the front fascia now has a more prominent air scoop. In addition, we expect to see some type of halogen cat-like eye lights in front as well.
As for the powertrain, it is still unconfirmed for the time being, but hopefully we will see some details as Chrysler releases more teaser photos. For now, rumor has it that the V10 engine could get an increase in displacement to an about 8.7 liters, which means more horsepower.
The 2013 Dodge Viper SRT will be unveiled in April at the New York Auto Show, until then, we are at the mercy of Chrysler with its teaser photos each week. You can follow the 2013 Dodge Viper SRT on Facebook as well.
To all the car enthusiasts, the moment of the new 2013 SRT Viper sports car is near. Just today, Chrysler has dropped more clearer teaser photos of its new sports car.
From what we can tell in these fuzzy photos, the 2013 SRT Viper sports car gets its front fascia re-done. Noticeably are the reversed front-mounted air scoops. Will this be enough to make it a “new” Viper? We’ll have to see more when it debuts at the 2012 New York Auto Show on April 4th.
That’s all we can tell for now on the new 2013 SRT Viper sports car, but with two days left, this sports car will either blow your mind or left you with a degassing feeling. What ever the future may hold for this new SRT Viper, we will bring it you when it debuts. In the meantime, you check at other enthusiasts’ comments at its Facebook account or check out Jon Sibal’s speculative rendering photos of the new SRT Viper above. Heck, he even threw in a roadster rendering version just for kicks. Exclusive launch will be at www.drivesrt.com on April 4th, 2012 at 11:55 a.m. EDT.
