Two days left before the 2012 New York Auto Show, and Mercedes-Benz can’t wait but to break the cover of its new 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class SUV. The SUV market hasn’t died off just yet, instead car manufacturers are leaning it down by giving it more fuel efficient engines instead.
So, what’s new in the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class SUV? For starter, the front fascia has been revamped with newly designed headlights and LED running lights as seen on the latest SLK and SL models. In addition to the front fascia revision, we can see larger air intakes that housed the LED running lights. Other than that, much of the design language is similar to the new SLK and SL models.
As for the interior of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class SUV, besides the more luxurious materials and updated gadgets, it remains relatively the same as the previous year model.
Mercedes-Benz has not officially announced the technical spec of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class yet, but we expect it to receive a 3.0-liter diesel V6 engine for the base model and the new twin-turbocharged 4.6-liter V8 engine for the higher-end model. These engines will likely be mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission or with the 4Matic all-wheel drive.
Stay tuned as we have more details of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class SUV when it debuts at the 2012 New York Auto Show on April 4th.
