The new BMW i8 hybrid supercar will make its way to production in the beginning of next year, and today, we got first glimpse of what may be the production model. From the photos, the BMW i8 hybrid supercar could easily be had as a production model. No fancy and gimmicky parts in these latest photos.
After many iterations of renderings, we see this latest iteration of the BMW i8 hybrid supercar production model has a shorter wheelbase and longer length than the concept model. The BMW i8 hybrid supercar will be powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter 3-cylilnder engine and coupled with an electric motor. Combined power from the two motors is said to be around 400 horsepower.
With a mighty hybrid powerplant and a light curb weight at around 3,187 pounds, the BMW i8 hybrid supercar can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. So, is this the final product? We think that the production model will be very similar to this one, although there may be a few minor changes here and there by next year.
