2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible has a steep starting price

The 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible has just come out for the U.S. market, and it isn’t cheap.  The new performance luxury sports car is priced at $60,600, plus $895 for a destination charge.  And we’re wondering just how many customers are willing to put out such a hefty price for this luxury sports car.

In price comparison, its rivalries, the 320-hp BMW 335is convertible is priced within the same range, at $60,800 at piece.  And the 333-hp Audi S5 is priced at $59,300.  The 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible is part of the Infiniti Performance Line model, which is equipped with a 3.7-liter VQ V6 engine producing 343 horsepower.  In addition, to set it apart from the standard G models, the company added spidery 19-inch wheels, tightened-up suspension, sportier exhaust and the options for a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic with paddle shifters.  Oh yeah, then there is the folding hardtop.

Given the styling and pricing, we would rather stick with standard Infiniti G37 Convertible with a rag top instead. But hey, if  you got the dough, why not splurge a little.
