The 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed is fast. Is Bentley trying to run with the big boys? These days, Bentley cars seem to be faster and faster with each iteration. The new 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine developing a staggering 616 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. That’s about 49 horsepower and 74 pound-feet of torque more than the previous model.
With more horsepower, the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed sports car is said to have a top speed of 205 mph, and it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds. And from the looks of things, Bentley is really trying to run with the big boys such Ferrari and Bugatti.
“For nearly a decade, the Bentley Continental GT has defined high luxury, high performance grand touring and the unique W-12 engine has been so successful that Bentley is now the world’s largest producer of 12-cylinder engines. The new GT Speed, with its harder-edged, sportier character, reaffirms this pinnacle positioning and continues to broaden the worldwide appeal of the Continental coupe.”
Along with the power upgrade on the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed, a lot of work has been done on the chassis and steering setups to make the car more stable at high speeds. In addition, a new close-ratio, eight-speed automatic transmission has been used to handle the high torque and power.
To further stabilizing the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed, the car’s overall ride height has been lowered to about one inch all around. In addition, new 21-inch wheels wrapped in sticky 275/35R21 Pirelli PZero tires were added. While the interior comes with the same luxury design as other Bentley cars. Now you can have the best of both worlds, luxury and sports.
The 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed is now ready for order, and deliveries are expected to be in October of this year.
