The long anticipated 2014 Mazda6 sedan has finally showed its face since the starting of the teaser last week. And just we had suspected, the all new 2014 Mazda6 looks closely similar to the concept model that was debuted last year.
The 2014 Mazda6 sedan is designed with the same Kodo design language as we have seen on the Takeri concept car and the 2013 CX-5 crossover. Although not stunning looking as the concept model, the 2014 Mazda6 sedan does look much more sportier and sleeker than the outgoing model.
As we have seen the improvement of the Skyativ system, it will like be carried over to the 2014 Mazda6 sedan in form of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine or perhaps even a supercharged version as well. It is still unknown for now, as Mazda will be releasing more details in the coming weeks.
The 2014 Mazda6 sedan will make its live debut at the Paris Motor Show this September, and we’ll keep you posted, so stay tuned. [7/24/2012]
Mazda has just fully unveiled its new 2014 Mazda6 sedan. The mid-size sedan looks very sporty and aggressive with its eye-catching new front grille, which has connected headlights to the shiny chrome bar over the grille. The interior is more clean than previous model. The cabin is highlighted by a color-matched interior accent panel along with even a rotary selector to control the navigation system.
Instead of using the old V6 engine, Mazda has chosen its latest, smaller fuel-efficient Skyactiv engines. The Skyactiv engine variants start with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Skyactiv-G engine producing 148 horsepower, and mated to a 6-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic or a six-speed Skyactiv-MT manual transmission. Next is the Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing about 189 horsepower, and mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. There is also a diesel engine added to the mix as well for European customers. Mazda also incorporated its new “i-Eloop” system along with “i-stop”, stop/start technology.
The new 2014 Mazda6 sedan is scheduled for worldwide deliveries later this year. In the meantime, check out the new photos above and the video below. New video of its debut at 2012 LA Auto Show below.
