All-new 2014 Acura RLX sedan will have hybrid power with 370-hp

The production model of the all-new 2014 Acura RLX sedan will debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 28, 2012, stated by President and CEO Takanobu of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. The Acura RLX Concept was first debuted at the New York Auto Show this past April, but this iteration of the production model has been trimmed down a bit.

According to Honda, the 2014 Acura RLX sedan will include hybrid technology called the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD, which is a through-the-road electric all-wheel-drive system. This new technology uses three individual motors to give a combined power output of around 370 horsepower, with the main power output comes from a 3.5-liter V6 engine. Also, there will be a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission offering as well.

If 370 horsepower in the 2014 Acura RLX sedan is a bit too much for you, there is a less-powerful engine with 310 horsepower available.  This will be just only for the front-wheel-drive model.  Honda claims that the V6 engine can muster out at least 30 miles per gallon combined of city and highway.

At at any rate, we’ll know more about the 2014 Acura RLX sedan when it debuts at the LA Auto Show on November 28th. In the meantime, check out the photos in the above.
