If you have been waiting for the new 2013 Audi RS5 Cabriolet, you won’t have to wait very long. The 2013 Audi RS5 Cabriolet has just debuted at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, and the company states that it will be available in U.S. in the first quarter of 2013 with a starting price under $70,000.
The 2013 Audi RS5 Cabriolet is a powerful sport convertible. It is equipped with a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 engine producing roughly 450 horsepower. With that kind of power, it would exhilarating indeed to have the rag-top on the highway. This high-revving engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Zero to 62 mph is claimed to be under five seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph.
To keep the 2013 Audi RS5 Cabriolet stable, the car is 20 mm lower and fitted with larger and firmer anti-roll bars. Five-link front and self-tracking trapezoidal-link rear suspension are made of very high lightweight aluminum added more rigidity. For stopping power, it is equipped with ventilated wave brake discs with eight-piston callipers.
“That car is a no-brainer,” Koegh said. “We think our RS strategy fills the brand. We think adding this high-performance attribute is huge. TT RS is a classic example. The car sold out and rock-and-rolled extremely well.”
The 2013 Audi RS5 Cabriolet will initially available in Germany in early 2013 with a starting price of €88,500, and later the in the UK.
