We have been waiting this happen for a while, and expect to happen sooner or later. So here is it today, the Hennessey Performance tuning shop has just released rendering photos of its modified 2013 Dodge SRT Viper supercar. As we all know too well with Hennessey Performance shop, they don’t just render photos for nothing. It is expected that the modified 2013 Dodge SRT Viper supercar to receive some crazy horses underneath eye-candy skin.
According to Hennessey Performance, the modified 2013 Dodge SRT Viper supercar is expected to be available in two versions: Venom 700R and Venom 1000 Twin Turbo, and you know what are those ‘700’ and ‘1000’ numbers stand for, no need to explain here.
We are just excited as you are here to see how well do these modified versions of the 2013 Dodge SRT Viper supercar go against the original, but first we have to look into the price consideration to see if it is worth the upgrade. The purchasing prices for the 2013 Viper or Viper GTS are $97,395 and $120,395, respectively. After that you have to ship your car to the Hennessey Performance shop in Texas for the upgrade. So far, Hennessey has not released pricing for the upgrades yet, but we expect from $40,000 to “who knows”, depends how much power do you desire.
The 2013 SRT Viper is equipped with the 8.4-liter V10 engine producing about 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, and the Venom 700R package boosted its power to 725 horsepower and 695 pound-feet of torque. This is accomplished with revised cylinder heads, a larger exhaust system, and reprogrammed ECU. According to the company, the 2013 SRT Viper with the 700R package can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and a quarter-mile in 10.7 seconds at speed of 134 miles per hour, while top speed is at around 216 mph. Yikes!
But if the 700R package is not enough for you, there is the 1000 Twin Turbo package as we mentioned earlier. The 1000 Twin Turbo package boosts the power output of the 2013 SRT Viper to 1,120 hp and 1,092 lb-ft of torque. The company claims that this modified supercar can blitz from 0-60 mph in merely 2.7 seconds and do a quarter-mile in 9.7 seconds at a speed of 152 mph. As the the moniker suggested, this power increase is accomplished with two turbos and almost everything else in the Viper’s engine has to be upgraded, except the block and crankshaft. That would definitely put a big hole in your wallet.
