Power for the all-new 2014 Subaru Forester will be provided by either a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder boxer engine producing 170 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque or a 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The engines will also be mated to either a new six-speed manual transmission or a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission, which includes either six- or eight-speed manual modes. Fuel economy for the 2014 Forester will be improved as well, according to the company.

For the interior, the 2014 Subaru Forester will be offered with smartphone integration, navigation, rear view camera and harman/kardon® premium audio amplifier and speakers.
