Subaru today has released a few photos and details of its all-new 2014 Forester, which will make its debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. The new model looks more bolder and refined than the current model, while providing a more spacious cabin to help increase the rear seat legroom and a larger cargo space.
Along with the bolder look, the all-new five-passenger 2014 Subaru Forester gets a new suspension system for more agile handling and stabled ride quality, which now has a higher ground clearance of 8.7 inches from the pavement. There are differences in the turbo and non-turbo versions, which the turbo version gets a whole new front fascia, as you can see in the photo above.
Power for the all-new 2014 Subaru Forester will be provided by either a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder boxer engine producing 170 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque or a 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The engines will also be mated to either a new six-speed manual transmission or a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission, which includes either six- or eight-speed manual modes. Fuel economy for the 2014 Forester will be improved as well, according to the company.
For the interior, the 2014 Subaru Forester will be offered with smartphone integration, navigation, rear view camera and harman/kardon® premium audio amplifier and speakers.

The new Subaru Forester goes on sale in Japan on November 13. It comes with a choice of two gasoline engines of a 146-hp 2.0-liter flat four-cyliner mating with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT, and a 276-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer mating to only a CVT.
While for the North American market model, the 2014 Subaru Forester SUV will launch with a 170-hp 2.5-liter boxer engine mating either a 6-speed manual shift or a CVT, and a 250-hp 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged boxer available only with a CVT.
The 2014 Subaru Forester has just debuted at the 2012 LA Auto Show today. We now learned that both models come with an all-wheel drive system as standard. On the 2.5-liter engine, it is available with a 6-speed manual or a CVT. Fuel economy on this setup is estimated at 24 mpg city, 32 mpg highway and 27 mpg combined. There is also a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, which comes only with a CVT.
There are a few new amenities added to the standard version and along with some optional equipment, which include a rear-view camera with a color multi-function display, power rear liftgate with automatic close, Keyless Access and Start and the EyeSight driver assist system that integrates Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking and Vehicle Lane Departure Warning.
