Bentley has just unwrapped its new luxury sedan ahead of the Geneva Motor Show. The redesigned 2014 Bentley Flying Spur sedan gets all new design elements in terms of look and speed, which included contemporary cabin design mixed with traditional hand-crafted luxury, a more aerodynamic body shape and powerful engine.
Bentley used to be known as a luxury sedan automaker, but in recent years, it re-established itself to be more of a luxury performance sedan automaker. So here we are with the new 2014 Bentely Flying Spur luxury sedan. It is blended with effortless driveability, finest luxury and craftsmanship, and sculpted design while equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
“Bentley’s new Flying Spur is the ultimate luxury performance sedan,” said Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber, Bentley’s CEO and Chairman. “Our engineers have worked tirelessly to ensure that the Flying Spur is the perfect combination of power, comfort, refinement and hand-crafted quality. Fitted with the very latest technology, the new Flying Spur is equipped both for business and relaxation whilst remaining a car to enjoy from behind the wheel.”
A look at under the hood of the 2014 Bentely Flying Spur is twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine producing 616 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Power is channeled to all four wheels via ZF’s eight-speed automatic transmission. According to the company, it can blast from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds and top speed is around 200 mph. And that is something we don’t see often in the luxury sedan market.
The styling of the new 2014 Bentely Flying Spur luxury sedan leans a bit towards a performance side. Even though it looks elegant, there are hints of sportiness in it as well. We can see in a lower stance and wider appearance with sharp lines. Additionally, a lower roof line, deeply sculpted panels, and a muscular rear haunch give the Flying Spur a more powerfully dynamic profile.
When it comes to Bentley luxury sedans, there are an abundant of options. These include 17 shades of exterior colors, wood veneers, diamond quilting seats and door panels, drilled alloy foot pedals, a knurled sports gear lever, jewel filler cap and 21″ two-piece five-spoke alloy wheels in painted or polished finish.
