The new 2014 Ford Fiesta ST compact car is now available at dealerships nationwide, but the starting price is not so compact. The ST model is the performance version, and although many enthusiasts are eager to get their hands on this car, the majority of frugal U.S. buyers will probably opt for the standard version.
The new 2014 Ford Fiesta ST compact car has a starting price of $21,400, not including a $795 destination charge. At this price, it comes with a turbocharged 1.6-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine producing 197 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque, and this is the main reason that enthusiasts are after. No performance data available yet, but we expect it to perform similar as its European version, which we can expect it to have a fuel return at around 34 miles per gallon on the highway.
“This is a rewarding car to rev,” says Mark Roberts, Fiesta calibration supervisor. “With 177 lb.-ft. of torque available from just 1,600 rpm and 214 lb.-ft. by 3,500 rpm, Fiesta ST gives the performance and feel of an engine twice its size. There’s no waiting at all for the power to just push you back in your seat.”
For a fully loaded 2014 Ford Fiesta ST with the Molten Orange or Green Envy paint schemes, it will cost you about $27,000. These upgrades include half-leather Recaro seats, a HD audio system with MyFord Touch infotainment and navigation, upgraded 17-inch dark alloy wheels and a power moonroof.
If the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST compact car is a bit rich, you can opt for the standard version, which starts at $14,000, or a five-door version that adds another $600. Of course, these prices do not reflect the additional $795 destination fee.
