In an effort to cut down costs and reduce the overwhelmingly brands from General Motors, GM plans to offer only the Buick Regal GS trim in the 2012 model. Other trims such as the CX, CXS and CXL will be cut out of existence. Only the GS trim will be left to indicate its high performance model. So, what you left with are the standard Buick Regal and Buick Regal GS.

The Buick Regal GS was introduced in January 2010, which it offered a new bold, sporty design and an aggressive stance to give the Buick a new modern image. The Buick Regal GS is powered by an Ecotec 2.o-liter turbocharged engine and six-speed transmission, with adaptive all-wheel-drive system and electronic limited-slip rear differential. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine pumps out about 255 horsepower to give a 0 – 60 mph in just 6.0 seconds flat.

The Buick Regal GS has a performance-oriented drivetrain, a lowered body and lower center of gravity. Exterior and interior cues include two additional vertical front air intakes; large, forged aluminum 20-inch wheels and performance tires; a racing-inspired sport steering wheel and metal pedals.
