The 2011 Audi RS5 may be coming to the U.S., but with an outrageous price

Since the 2011 Audi RS5 unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show, rumor has it that the new 2011 Audi RS5 may be coming to the U.S. after all. Sales of the Audi RS5 should begin sometime in the summer of 2011, and it will be priced around at an astronomical sum of $105,900.

What gives? The 2011 Audi RS5 has about 30 horsepower more than the 2007 Audi RS4 ($75,000), and it costs about $30,000 more; $1,000 per one horsepower increased. I know it’s not just the 30 horsepower in the price equation, but $30,000 more is a bit too much for an Audi car. This ain’t no supercar, who are they fooling, themselves?

As you may have already known, the new 2011 Audi RS5 is powered by a 4.2L V8 that produces 450-hp and a maximum torque of 317 lb-ft. Power is shifted through a standard seven-speed S tronic, which able to propel the 2011 Audi RS5 from 0 – 62 mph in just 4.6 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
