GM is winding down the HUMMER operation by sending dedicated staff members in the HUMMER division to other posts within GM. Although GM is still waiting for that last chance of the HUMMER offering, but so far what we see is a slim to none chance that anyone would buy it.
From a business stand point, the HUMMER brand is basic dead due to dwindling sales figures. However, HUMMER fans are still rallying to keep the HUMMER alive. As much as GM would like to keep it, it would be a dead weigh on GM’s shoulders.
A Chicago-based investment firm is organizing a summit this Sunday for key HUMMER stakeholders (dealers, leaders of HUMMER clubs, etc), and it is unlikely that GM will be participating in this meeting. And without GM, such a meeting would only serve as a ventilation for the interested parties.
R.I.P, HUMMER! It is not official but we all know it too well that this is the end for the HUMMER brand.
