GM today has announced the starting prices for the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD and 2011 GMC Sierra HD. The price of the Chevrolet Silverado HD starts at $27,965. If you want to upgrade to a Duramax diesel engine and Allison transmission combination, that would add about $8,395 more, which the Duramax diesel engine can give up 680 miles per tank on the highway. Now that is good mileage by any truck standard. Plus the Duramax is also is B20 biodiesel capable.
As for the the 2011 Sierra HD, it will have a starting price of $27,965 (not including a $995 destination charge for the 2500 regular cab 2WD model). The top-of-the-line 2011 Sierra Denali HD will start you at about $45,865, and this doesn’t including destination charge either.
When compare with the starting prices of other truck manufacturers, both the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC seem like a good deal. Here are the starting prices of other truck manufacturers with comparable models:
