The official patent drawings of the next Dodge Durango SUV was filed a few months ago by Chrysler LLC, and now, a forum user named Andrew Currie from “Cheersandgears” took the patent sketches and rendered it into a more realistic looking full-size Dodge SUV.
Even though it is in the patent office, a lot of times it doesn’t make to production. But that really depends on market demand, and right now, SUV is not really in demanding as buyers are looking more at the cross-overs or smaller cars. Chrysler just released its 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and if this makes well in the market; hopefully, we may see the return of the Dodge Durango SUV.
At any case, the next Dodge Durango will be built on the same platform of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The new Dodge Durango will likely get new Chrysler LLC’s new 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar with 290-horsepower just like the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and with an option of the 5.7-liter V8 HEMI with 360 horsepower.
