2011 Honda CR-Z goes on sale in the U.S. by August 24th

Honda has announced that the all-new 2011 CR-Z sport hybrid coupe be available in the U.S. by August 24, 2010, with the price starting at $19,250 plus a destination charge of $750. The 2011 Honda CR-Z is Honda’s first hybrid sport coupe that was already available in Japan in a few months ago.

The new 2011 Honda CR-Z comes with a hybrid powertrain that combined with the 102-hp 1.5-liter iVTEC 4-cylinder engine and a 20-hp electric motor to give a combined horsepower output of 122HP and 128 lb-ft. of torque. The hybrid power system is mated with a standard six-speed manual gearbox, and optional CVT gearbox is also available with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

As for fuel economy, the Honda CR-Z is rated at 36 city/38 highway miles per gallon on CVT-equipped models. Manual transmission models at an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 31 city/37 highway miles per gallon.

The 2011 Honda CR-Z comes in two trims. With the base EX trim, it comes with standard features such as an AM/FM/CD/USB audio system with six speakers, automatic climate control, power windows and door locks, remote entry and cruise control. And while the EX trim comes with a 360-watt AM/FM/CD high-power audio system with seven speakers including a subwoofer, Bluetooth, leather steering wheel and more. If you want a total connectivity $1,800 package, it comes with Satellite-Linked Navigation System and Voice Recognition.
