Suzuki finally released the full details of its all new 2011 Suzuki Swift since its debut a few months ago. In the European version of the Suzuki Swift, there are two engine options: a new 1.2-liter petrol that makes 94 horsepower and 87 lb-ft of peak torque and a revised 1.3-liter turbo diesel with 75 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are offered with a five-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol unit is also available with an optional four-speed automatic transmission.
Wit the 1.2-liter gasoline model and a manual gearbox, the Suzuki Swift can sprint from zero to 62 mph in 12.3 seconds (automatic transmission in 13.5 sec) and with a top speed of 103 mph. It has a combined fuel consumption 47 mpg, now that is very economical fuel consumption.
If you prefer the diesel power, the Suzuki Swift 1.3 turbo diesel can sprint from 0 – 62 mph in 12.7 seconds with top speed at 103 mph as well. The diesel power engine provide outstanding fuel consumption with 56 mpg.
With full details published, it is likely that the Suzuki Swift will hit U.S. showrooms somewhere in August. And as for pricing, it is around $14,000 – $16,000.
