Looks like the Volkswagen Bluesport will make to production after all since its debut as a concept almost half a year ago. Perhaps, this news comes as there is a need for VW to have a mini sports car to compete with the Toyota FT-86 or Honda CR-Z in this segment. Volkswagen hasn’t made any official announcement yet, but an unnamed source has confirmed that the VW Bluesport it was given a sneak peek of the final version of the car.
Speculation has it from AutoExpress that the BlueSport will come with a 178-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine in the standard model. And there is a variety of engine options will also be available such as the twin-charged 1.4-liter four-banger gasoline engine from the Polo GTI and a turbo 2.0-liter gasoline engine from the Golf GTI.
At this point, it is still speculation. But we know all too well, usually these unnamed sources in the auto industry are very reliable. Just lets hope that the production model of the Volkswagen Bluesport will be much like the concept model.
