Audi just confirmed that the new RS5 Coupe will be coming to the U.S. in 2012. If you can remember back in April of this year, we have reported the coming of the 2011 Audi RS5 to the U.S. with a price tag of around $105,900. That is twice the price of the standard Audi S5, which is about $52,400. But it has only 354 horsepower with a 4.2-liter V8 engine.
The new 2012 Audi RS5 Coupe all-wheel drive RS5 Coupe gets the same displacement naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8, but it produces 450-horsepower and can sprint from 0 – 62 mph in just 4.6 seconds.
Does the horsepower justify the price hike? Not likely, especially in America, we would rather get Audi S5 instead and slap in a turbocharger for a few grand to get the same horsepower. Check out the press release below for more details of the Audi RS5 and the announcing of pricing for the 2011 Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 Quattro V10.
