Rumors and patent drawings of the 2011 Dodge Durango have been spread wide over the Internet over a couple of months, and today, Dodge officially revealed its 2011 Durango. The 2011 Dodge Durango won’t be anything like its predecessor, which is a full SUV. Instead, it is between a crossover and a SUV.
As we can expect, the 2011 Durango is built upon the same platform as the new the new Jeep Grand Cherokee. This includes the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine or an optional 5.7-liter Hemi V8, but we expect the likely hood of the more efficient 3.6-liter Pentasar V6 engine as standard.
Like the previous generation Dodge Durango, it will come in three performance trims. Dodge did not reveal details of the three trims, but it did refer the new Dodge Durango as a “all-new three-row performance SUV” in the press release. We can expect, perhaps, maybe a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 trim, a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 trim, and the 6.4-liter Hemi trim, which are similar to the new Jeep Grand Cherokee offering.
Stay tuned…we expect a full blown unveiling of the 2011 Dodge Durango in a couple of weeks. As for now, check out the teaser photos and video below.
