2011 Bentley Continental GT with V8 engine

It has been a while since the introduction of the Bentley Continental GT in 2003 that there is a change needed to refresh its design. With that, the Bentley is releasing details of the new 2011 Bentley Continental GT ahead of the Parish Motor Show. The new 2011 Bentley Continental GT has been updated with new interior and exterior design as well as a more efficient 4.0-liter V8 engine to meet stricter emissions standards.

The 2011 Bentley Continental GT will begin offering its four-seat coupe with a new 4.0-liter V8 engine by late 2011, which will reduce CO2 emissions by 40 percent. No details on the 4.0-liter power output yet, but Bentley said that it will be competitive.

Bentley still will be offering the lighter version of its 6.0-liter W12 twin-turbocharged engine, which has been boosted to 567 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque. The lighter W12 produces a sprint time of 4.4 seconds from 0 to 60 mph. Of course, the 2011 Bentley Continental GT will shift through all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission that is capable of delivering gear-skipping double downshifts for exhilarating response. The all wheel drive system splits 40 percent of the power to the front wheels and 60 percent to the rear to reduce understeer.

Outside the exterior most noticeable changes are the gemstone headlights with LED running lights, revised front grille and moving the front fender panel gap downward. In the rear end, the rear fenders have more definition with more squared car taillights.

As for the interior, 2011 Bentley Continental GT gets treated with a fresh look. There is a new touchscreen infotainment unit with a 30GB hard drive, redesigned front seats, 11-speaker sound system, and also an abundance of TV/DVD/Phone/iPod connectivity.

The new 2011 Bentley Continental GT’s new design has kept up with the modern trend not only in the powertrain department but as well look and functionality. Check out the 2011 Continental GT at the Paris Motor Show later this month.
