Infinity will be introducing the 2012 Infinity M35 Hybrid. It is expected that the 2012 Infinity M35 Hybrid fuel economy rating to be around 30 miles per gallon from a 3.5-liter V6 and an electric motor that is powered by a lithium ion battery pack.
The hybrid trend is the future for the Infinity M35 Hybrid. Hopefully, the hybrid trend will be the transitional period which will bring the electrical car era into a reality in this century. The need for dinosaur fuel will be gone. It is expected 50 years from now that the world will be depleted of fossil fuel. Every company now has some type of a green car available for the market. Lexus already has the LS 460 hybrid, now Infinity will have one also for its sedan category.
The Infinity M35 Hybrid has been designed and engineered to maintain a high performance luxury sedan with fuel economy in mind. It consists of a single electric motor/twin clutch arrangement. The first clutch is installed between the naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine and the electric motor to give a smooth linear performance and direct responses between switches. The electric motor acts as both a propulsion unit and assisted-power to the V6 engine.
The M35 Hybrid can also run only on its electric motor in certain conditions to further the fuel efficiency and optimizing energy usage. The battery pack will be constructed of laminated lithium ion that is the same size as a conventional battery but twice the performance. Expect to see this car in 2012, so stay tuned for more details on the 2011 Infiniti M35. Meanwhile, check out the press release below for more details.
