The Infiniti Performance Line (IPL) G Cabrio Concept is another version of sporty IPL badge after the introduction of the G Coupé in North America in the summer. The IPL G Coupe will come at Paris Auto Show in October, and it is likely to head for production later.  The IPL G Cabrio convertible version shares many of the styling and performance enhancements of Infiniti Performance Line G’s hardtop.

The IPL G Cabrio gets a modified version of the standard car’s 3.7-liter V6 delivering 338 hp at 7,400 rpm and 374Nm of torque. And that is about 10 horsepower lesser than the U.S. IPL G Coupe. Power is shifted through a seven-speed automatic transmission with magnesium paddle shifts, which enable the IPL G convertible to accelerate from 0-62 mph in less than 6 seconds with limited top speed of 168 mph.

To enhance aerodynamic and stability, the IPL G Cabrio’s suspension has been upgraded with 10% stiffer springs and recalibrated dampers to make body sits lower to the ground. A new front bumper, blacked-out grille and headlight surrounds, sculptured side sill extensions and a boot lid spoiler all provided the ground effect for the IPL G Cabrio concept. Noticeably is the large exhaust tail pipes and 19-inch 7-spoke rims to round out the sporty look. The IPL G Cabrio concept also gets a new coat of paint that resembles a pearlescent black color with red hints called “Malbec Black”. and while the interior comes with Monaco Red leather.

As for the interior, it is covered with Monaco Red leather. The center console is finished with black lacquer while the dashboard area above the glove box and doors are adorned with a decorative trim called KACCHU, which is a name given to the armour used by the samurai.

It likely that the IPL G Cabrio concept will head to production after the Paris Motor Show, and that U.S. will get the first batch. As for whether or not the IPL  G Cabrio be available in Europe, it depends if there is enough interest.
