The next gen Leaf packs boast a 200 mile range for the same price as the gen 1 packs, but of course they have to sell the current batch to make their money back before they can start putting the new packs in a production model.

@sahgjhbvThe voltage in the sockets in North America and Japan are 2 times lower than the ones in Europe.

@2048Megabytes I agree totally, I remember back in Junior year of high school my social studies teacher said that the combustion engine is an archaic technology. We soooooo need something else!

  • 2048Megabytes

The Nissan Electric Car can go up to 87 miles per hour. Most gasoline cars have a governor on them that will not allow you to push them past 95 to 105 miles per hour. Who cares about speeds higher than 90 miles per hour anyway. It is illegal to drive that fast. I cannot wait for cars like this to be able to get have over a 150 mile range. The internal combustion engine has outlived its stay in the world.

It is a shame we don’t recycle nuclear waste and reuse it again in our nuclear power plants. France does it, why can’t we?

  • sahgjhgbv

wait, why would the us and japan need more hours to charge than europe. whats the difference between the two energies

  • ivaniclixx

@akulabite You have all the reason. I’m just waiting for a REAL affordable alternative car.

  • deadmantyping2

@tripjet999 It wont take any more coal fired plants to charge electric cars. The output from preexising coal plants is adequate . Same number of coal plants minus the emissions from electric cars equals fewer emissions. Oh ever hear of clean alternative energy?

  • tripjet999

How much oil/coal will it take to make the electricity needed to charge the batteries?

  • akulabite

Its interesting how the technology has been around for decades but OIL industries have crushed the idea of fully electrical vehicle… Im not a big fan of nissan but i would support their vision.
