it won’t be long till they put some form of generator in this thing to power it longer!

It would be a very good idea to put some solar pannales on the hood from the car. Like this it will always be charged

In addition to sufficient charging points, what’s the lifetime of the battery and how much would it cost to replace? If the cost runs into £1000s what would be the second hand value of the car should it need – nay, almost certainly need – a replacement battery?

I want to know where you’re supposed to plug in. Say for example, you live in Manhattan and have to park on the street. Where do you connect to refuel? I just don’t think the infrastructure exists to make these all -electrical cars very practical.

The Electric car is the car of the future. As batteries are developed to provide power for longer distances of travel, they will be mass produced and the world will reduce pollution so that global warming can be halted.

  • Filmerfilms

There is no info on the Batteries they may drive the car for 100 miles the first week you buy it but after a short time that distance will drop, just like all rechargeble stuff, laptops phones ipods ect’ so how long do they last and how much do they cost to replace?

  • Filmerfilms

I have been looking at all the info video ect’ on this car, it looks great But there is no info on how long do the batterys last by that i mean befor they need replacing, and how much will they cost. think about it everything that runs on rechargable batterys are the same they hold a charge for less and less time, i can see this being the same after a few months it will only do 90 miles then 75 then 50. can anyone tell me more?

I love the idea behind the Leaf and I guess you have to start somewhere. But tell me who would really wait around at a charging station for 30mins unless it was attached to some food place or retail center. And something tells me McDonalds and Wal-mart aren’t about to go putting in Leaf charging stations at their location. Sure you could charge it at home but what if you forget to plug in. I agree that it would be smarter to have battery exchanges. Then those places can charge and trade those.

Instead of recharging batteries, why not just exchange batteries for a fully charged one like we do with propane cans? Instead of charge stations there could be battery exchange stations. You could potentially exchange batteries faster than it would take to fill up your car with gas.

@mesmerizeme Most people don’t drive more than 70 miles a day. With this car you can do yournormal commute and plug it in at evening and have it ready for the next day.

What makes electric cars so bad? They are a great secondary car to own. Our nation is way too dependent on foreign oil. These cars could help us get away from importing foreign oil.

Just a few more months until the leaf is in my garage and i can say say fuck you to my local gas stations and Opec. No more of my money will be used to fund middle eastern oil rich terrorist regimes. Just got my ‘Starve a Terrorist drive electric’ bumper sticker today for my leaf.
