Holden EFIJY Concept chosen to showcase at Motorclassica

The Holden EFIJY concept is scheduled to debut at the Motorclassica event from October 22-24th. This classic designed car has been chosen to showcase Australia’s first International Concours D’elegance, where it will be accompanied by other classic and exotic automobiles from all over the world.

Holden first came out with the EFIJY concept car in 2005, and the car quickly received compliment from hot rod enthusiasts and designers the same because of its ’50s-inspired lines and otherworldly powertrain. The thing is, under that old style body is parked , a completely modern driveline, including a framework coppied from a Chevrolet Corvette.

According to Holden Chief Designer and EFIJY creater Richard Ferlazzo said, “We’re certainly honoured to have EFIJY displayed in its home city among some of the world’s most stunning cars. I’m sure EFIJY will evoke different memories for everyone who sees it throughout the event. People might focus on the FJ links, the beautiful custom coupes of the 1930s or the even the great design flair of the 1950s.”

The Holden EFIJY concept car isn’t built just for look. Underneath EFIJY concept is the all-powerful 6.0-liter LS2 V8 supercharged engine that is found in the Corvette ZR-1. At full throttle, the LS2 V8 supercharged engine able to produce 645 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque.

The EFIJY concept car has gathered a growing number of fans wherever it has been displayed, and it also has received the prestigious title of 2007 North American Concept Car of the Year by South East Automotive Media Organization (SEAMO).
