Mercedes-Benz is redefining its new design concept to represent the future of Mercedes-Benz. Gone are days of boxy designs, and new to the present is a much more fluid form for its next-generation of cars, like the ones we’ve seen recently. With that, Mercedes-Benz is unveiling its brand new concept car called the F800 Style. The F800 Style concept car will be the future of a “baby CLS”.

The Mercedes-Benz F800 Style is designed with spacious interior of intelligent seating, operating, and display concepts. Two distinct versions have been developed with a new multi-drive platform. The first form is a hybrid system, which consists of an electric motor with fuel cells as a plug-in hybrid that has 18-mile range on electricity alone. The plug-in hybrid drive system includes a 300 horsepower gasoline V-6 connected to a 109 horsepower electric motor running on lithium-ion batteries, which can be charged by using a regular household power socket.

Performance wise, Mercedes-Benz claims that the F800 Style hybrid can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds with an electronic governed top speed of 155 mph. When in pure electric mode, the Mercedes-Benz F800 Style hybrid can achieve a top speed of 75 mph. But best of all, the F800 Style hybrid has a fuel economy rating of 81 miles per gallon. That is more that the 2010 VW Polo diesel version.

And there a second version using hydrogen fuel cell to power the F800 Style. It comes with a 136 horsepower electric motor. At merely 15.5 feet in length, many people called it the “baby CLS” Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz confesses that the F800 Style concept is a preview of its new design expression, which is noticeable by a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and a flowing roof line.

Various other additional features will be found in the new F800 Style include the DISTRONIC PLUS traffic jam assistant, which helps make the F800 Style able to follow another vehicle at 25 mph along a curved road automatically while stuck in traffic. And there is also the PRE-SAFE 360, which constantly monitors movements in the front and rear and can apply the brakes if it detects an accident is imminent.

The Mercedes-Benz F800 Style will point the future of production models. It will make its world debut on March 2 in Geneva Motor Show.
