A new stealthy Ford’s Police Interceptor may become available soon. A concept version is in the works, and it will make its world premiere at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week. The Ford Taurus Police Interceptor Stealth is completely blacked out for an under-cover look.

The Ford Taurus Police Interceptor Stealth’s design is inspired by the original stealth aircraft, the SR-71 Blackbird. From the exterior look, it is completely blackout with tinted windows and smoked tail lamps while riding on 22-inch black wheels. The suspension on the Taurus Police Interceptor Stealth has been lowered by an inch to provide greater stability in case of a hot pursuit. There are also hidden police lights that allow it to patrol covertly as well.

Ford hasn’t released specs of the 2011 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor Stealth yet, but we expect it is similar to the 2011 Ford Taurus sedan offering; which will be offered with two powertrain options of an E85-capable normally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 280 horsepower and a turbocharged version with direct-injection producing 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.

The Ford Taurus Police Interceptor will go on sale when the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor is retired in late 2011.
