Sinister looking 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T for SEMA show

Hyundai has joined up with RIDES magazine to make its Hyundai Sonata 2.0T more hip for the SEMA show. The result is a new Hyundai Sonta 2.0T that isn’t look like your mama’s car, but instead, it is aggressive and sinister looking car to fit in with the SEMA theme. The 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T is already available in the market with prices starting from $24,865, and it comes with a 2.0-liter force-fed four-cylinder engine producing 274 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque.

Much of the modifications are done with a RIDES custom body kit, which used styling cues from the four-door Brabus Mercedes CLS Rocket as claimed by RIDES. The custom body kit composed of front and rear bumpers, side skirts, rear wing and roof spoiler to create a unique look that is blend in with the rest of the car. The RIDES Hyundai Sonata 2.0T was then painted in a matte pearl white color to match everything together as one piece.

“The Sonata Turbo is an ideal platform for us to bridge the worlds of performance, aesthetics, luxury, technology and style,” said Ben Harris, executive publisher, RIDES and 0-60 magazines. “The design we’ve chosen will accentuate the car’s lines and style, using influences from exotic supercars.”

RIDES also added 20-inch Rennen Modular M9 wheels and fitted a long-running LEDs to the front fascia. Even the inner headlamps have been painted with matte black color and the taillamps have been smoked out along with the black grille as well. Basically, you get a very contrast Hyundai Sonata 2.0T with matte black on matte white.

But RIDES didn’t stop at the exterior modification. Within the cabin, RIDES had the whole interior reupholstered with black leather and suede. To give it a sinister looking theme, contrasting red stitching was used to all the edges of the leather and suede pieces. In addition, carbon fiber trims are added throughout the car: the dashboard, inner door side panels, grill, roof, side mirrors and rear diffuser.

As a result, Hyundai has done a great job of partnering with tuner shops to increase attention of its 2011 Hyundai cars at the SEMA show. We’ve have already seen other Hyundai cars such as the Mummbles Equus, ARK Genesis Coupe, RMR Equus and Gogogear Genesis Coupe, which all will be displaying at this week SEMA show.

This year SEMA show will be hot. The playing field has been leveled to some extent with the down-size of some big companies and the rise of smaller companies. Auto manufacturers are going all out this year to revitalize the auto industry. Doesn’t matter what kind of new cars they got, ┬áit will get modified one way or another for the SEMA show this week in Las Vegas.
