The Volkswagen Golf GTI is built to be fuel efficient and a commuter car, but it has received a lot more power lately. The latest VW Golf R version comes with 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder producing 270 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque on tap, which is the most powerful Golf ever produced by Volkswagen.

But at 270 horsepower in the tiny VW Golf GTI may not be enough for some; the hunger for power is endless. MR Car Design, a tuner shop who is known for VW Golf modification, further boosted the VW Golf GTI into the 300’s horsepower territory. It added a new “MR6R” power package that includes a reprogrammed ECU, custom downpipe, intercooler and a sports exhaust system. The new power package helps boost 330 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque.

Tuning is not complete until you lower the car and add racing wheels. MR Car Design provides a new set of 19-inch spoke wheels with 235/35-19 tires and lower it about 1.5-inches with H&R sports springs.

The stock Volkswagen Golf GTI can sprint from 0-62 mph in about 5.7 seconds, and we expect with MR Car Design power package, it should be around 5.1 seconds.
