Geez, this is much more like a publicity stun than Hyundai is trying to hide the Hyundai Elantra before its debut at the LA Auto Show on November 18, 2010. Even with all the efforts of hiding the 2012 Elantra under the cover, somehow, it managed to show up on Twitter with part of its skin uncovered.
Well, this is certainly no secret. The 2012 Hyundai Elantra is called the Avante in Korea, which was unveiled in April 2010. Here is what we know about the 2012 Hyundai Elantra or Avante in South Korea. It comes with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine producing 138 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque for the Korean model. However, the U.S. version of the 2102 Elantra will get a Theta 2.0-liter direct injection engine producing the same 138 horsepower but with 136 lb-ft of torque.
Estimate fuel rating for the 2012 Hyundai Elantra is said to be around 40 miles per gallon. This should put it in the same range as the Ford Focus. Check out the full skin of the 2012 Hyundai Elantra in the pictures below.
