Toyota announced a voluntary recall of the 2007-2008 RAV4 and 2008 Highlander and Highlander HV SUVs sold in the States due a possibility of faulty air bag sensors. Approximately 214,000 RAV4s and 94,000 Highlanders and Highlander HVs are affected by this recall.
Ford has announced a massive recall of about 1.2 million units of the F-150 pickup truck sold in the U.S. This recall action follows when Ford agreed in February to recall more than 150,000 F-150 trucks built between 2004 and 2006 for faulty airbag deployment.
This isn’t the first time Ford had used bad tires on its vehicle. Remember the Firestone tires on the Ford Explorer? This time around is the Continental tires used on the Ford F-Series pickup trucks, and Continental is not taking any chances. It is issuing a recall on its tires.
Honda is recalling the 2009 and 2010 model year Fit vehicles in the U.S. due to potential damage of the valve springs, which affects 97,201 cars. The lost motion springs are located in the valvetrain which may bend or break gradually due to the compression forces exerted on them by the rocker arms, leading to irregular engine noise as well as damage.
Lexus has announced of a voluntary safety recall on about 245,000 Lexus GS and IS models in the U.S. due to a potential defect at the fuel sensor that may cause fuel leakage. The affected models include the 2006-2007 GS300 and GS350, 2006-2009 IS 250, and 2006-2008 IS 350.
