It seems like the auto industry is having a come back. Ford is investing $155 million in Cleveland Engine Plant No. 1 and adding 60 jobs to the Cleveland Plant in Ohio. The new investment supports the new fuel-efficient 3.7-liter V-6 engine for 2011 Mustang that delivers an expected best-in-class 30 mpg highway and 305 horsepower.

BMW introduced the new M Sports package on the BMW X5. The addition of the M Sports package include, a sporty chassis set-up, 19-inch M light-alloy wheels with 20-inch M wheels as optional, special tailpipes for the exhaust system, carbon black metallic exterior paint, M door sills, electrically adjustable sport seats, M leather steering wheel, brushed aluminum interior trim elements and BMW Individual roof liner.
The New 2011 Porsche Cayenne world debut
Porshe’s world debut of the Cayenne S Hybrid with its full hybrid drive and fuel consumption in the New European Driving Cycle of 34.4 mpg, which translate to CO2 emissions of just 193 g/km. The Cayenne S Hybrid therefore combines the performance of an eight-cylinder with the economy of a six-cylinder running on much less fuel. Compared with the previous models, fuel consumption is down by to 23 per cent.
2011 Ford F-Series super duty truck is fuel efficient
The new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty is considered to be the most powerful and fuel efficient in its class for the 2011 model year. It probably has the highest torque, towing capability and payload in the heavy-duty truck class. Another plus side is the new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty offers with a choice of gas or diesel engines.
Tested fuel economy on the all-new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty equipped with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 diesel engine averages about 18 percent improvement for pickup models and up to 25 percent improvement for chassis cabs compared to 2010 models. Trucks equipped with new base 6.2-liter V-8 gas engines have an average of 15 percent improvement compared to 2010 models.
The all-new 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 turbocharged diesel engine produces 735 ft.-lb. of torque at 1,600 rpm, making the highest in the heavy-duty truck class. High torque is accomplished through a 390 horsepower (at 2,800 rpm) the 6.7L engine. In addition, the new engine is B20 biodiesel compatible.
Another engine offering for the 2011 Ford F-Series trucks is the all-new 6.2-liter V-8 gas engine with 385 horsepower and 405 ft.-lb. of torque. This is about 85 more horsepower and 40 ft.-lb. of torque more than the current 5.4-liter V-8 gas engine. It also delivers better fuel economy and E85 compatibility.
All-new powertrains give the new 2011 F-Series Super Duty a class-leading towing capability of 26,400 pounds on chassis cabs, 24,400 pounds on pickups; and payload capability of 12,711 pounds on chassis cabs, 6,520 pounds on pickups.
HUMMER Sale to Tengzhong is a No-Go, Ouch!
Ouch! Is this for real? General Motors yesterday announced that Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machines Co., Ltd. (Tengzhong) was unable to complete the acquisition of HUMMER. GM will now have to begin the dismantling process of the HUMMER operations.
2011 Honda CR-Z Sport Hybrid Coupe Production Model and Mugen CR-Z – update

Honda Motor Co. announced that the all-new CR-Z hybrid vehicle will go on sale in Japan on Friday, February 26, 2010. CR-Z combines a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine and Honda’s proprietary Integrated Motor Assist system, and creates fusion between futuristic and dynamic styling and exhilarating driving, along with an impressive fuel economy of 59 miles per gallon. Sales of the 2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid will start in the U.S. in the mid second quarter of 2010.
2012 Lexus GS-F will be powered by LFA V10 engine
The Lexus GS-F sedan will arrive in 2013 gets a detuned LFA’s 4.8-litre V10 engine. This high performance Lexus GS-F sedan plans to take on the BMW M5 series. Really? First, it needs to challenge the Infiniti M or G series before taking on the champion. It doesn’t mean that if you slap on a bigger engine, you are good to go higher.
Toyota FT-86 Concept – update

Good news! Just last week, Jaromir Cech, Toyota designer, confirmed with Autocar that the Toyota FT-86 Concept’s looks will mostly retain in the production model. Only a few minor changes in the front and rear ends to meet safety regulations. The front end has to be raised a little to meet pedestrian impact standards.
The Toyota FT-86 so far the most exciting sports car that came out of Toyota since the last Supra model. That was like a decade and a half ago? Toyota image was so boring that I fell asleep through its reign in the past decade.
Honda 3R-C Concept future car
The car of the future is here. The revolutionary Honda 3R-C concept will make its world debut in the 2010 Geneva Motor Show this March. Honda envisions the three-wheeled 3R-C concept as a single person vehicle, which battery power is used to drive the electric motors.
2011 Land Rover small SUV
Land Rover announced that a smaller SUV Land Rover will be available for sale in the third quarter of 2011, and it doesn’t like to be called as a crossover. From my experience in the past, driving a Land Rover is like driving your house around. With the fading of the SUV to the crossover SUV, and instead of a crossover, Land Rover is betting on this small SUV, which is based on the LRX concept.
