2011 Ford F Series c 620x449 2011 Ford F Series super duty truck is fuel efficient

The new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty is considered to be the most powerful and fuel efficient in its class for the 2011 model year. It probably has the highest torque, towing capability and payload in the heavy-duty truck class. Another plus side is the new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty offers with a choice of gas or diesel engines.

Tested fuel economy on the all-new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty equipped with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 diesel engine averages about 18 percent improvement for pickup models and up to 25 percent improvement for chassis cabs compared to 2010 models. Trucks equipped with new base 6.2-liter V-8 gas engines have an average of 15 percent improvement compared to 2010 models.

The all-new 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 turbocharged diesel engine produces 735 ft.-lb. of torque at 1,600 rpm, making the highest in the heavy-duty truck class. High torque is accomplished through a 390 horsepower (at 2,800 rpm)  the 6.7L engine. In addition, the new engine is B20 biodiesel compatible.

Another engine offering for the 2011 Ford F-Series trucks is the all-new 6.2-liter V-8 gas engine with 385 horsepower and 405 ft.-lb. of torque.  This is about 85 more horsepower and 40 ft.-lb. of torque more than the current 5.4-liter V-8 gas engine. It also delivers better fuel economy and E85 compatibility.

All-new powertrains give the new 2011 F-Series Super Duty a class-leading towing capability of 26,400 pounds on chassis cabs, 24,400 pounds on pickups; and payload capability of 12,711 pounds on chassis cabs, 6,520 pounds on pickups.

toyota ft 86 concept 3 620x413 Toyota FT 86 Concept update

Update as 2/24/2010

Good news! Just last week, Jaromir Cech, Toyota designer, confirmed with Autocar that the Toyota FT-86 Concept’s looks will mostly retain in the production model. Only a few minor changes in the front and rear ends to meet safety regulations. The front end has to be raised a little to meet pedestrian impact standards.

The Toyota FT-86 so far the most exciting sports car that came out of Toyota since the last Supra model. That was like a decade and a half ago? Toyota image was so boring that I fell asleep through its reign in the past decade.

Land Rover announced that a smaller SUV Land Rover will be available for sale in the third quarter of 2011, and it doesn’t like to be called as a crossover. From my experience in the past, driving a Land Rover is like driving your house around.  With the fading of the SUV to the crossover SUV, and instead of a crossover, Land Rover is betting on this small SUV, which is based on the LRX concept.
