Tougher, stronger and yet fuel efficient, that is Ford’s truck theme in the years ahead. With that, Ford is introducing the all-new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty. It features all-new diesel and gas powertrains that may deliver best-in-class in terms of torque and horsepower as well as class-leading fuel economy. The new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty equipped with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 turbocharged diesel engine averages an 18 percent improvement for pickup models and up to 25 percent improvement for chassis cabs in fuel economy when compared with previous 2010 models. Trucks equipped with new base 6.2-liter V-8 gas engine average a 15 percent improvement versus 2010 models.

2011 Ford F-Series super duty truck is fuel efficient
The new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty is considered to be the most powerful and fuel efficient in its class for the 2011 model year. It probably has the highest torque, towing capability and payload in the heavy-duty truck class. Another plus side is the new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty offers with a choice of gas or diesel engines.
Tested fuel economy on the all-new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty equipped with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 diesel engine averages about 18 percent improvement for pickup models and up to 25 percent improvement for chassis cabs compared to 2010 models. Trucks equipped with new base 6.2-liter V-8 gas engines have an average of 15 percent improvement compared to 2010 models.
The all-new 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 turbocharged diesel engine produces 735 ft.-lb. of torque at 1,600 rpm, making the highest in the heavy-duty truck class. High torque is accomplished through a 390 horsepower (at 2,800 rpm) the 6.7L engine. In addition, the new engine is B20 biodiesel compatible.
Another engine offering for the 2011 Ford F-Series trucks is the all-new 6.2-liter V-8 gas engine with 385 horsepower and 405 ft.-lb. of torque. This is about 85 more horsepower and 40 ft.-lb. of torque more than the current 5.4-liter V-8 gas engine. It also delivers better fuel economy and E85 compatibility.
All-new powertrains give the new 2011 F-Series Super Duty a class-leading towing capability of 26,400 pounds on chassis cabs, 24,400 pounds on pickups; and payload capability of 12,711 pounds on chassis cabs, 6,520 pounds on pickups.
High demand for the new Ford F-150 Raptor
Ford announced that it already has received more than 5,300 orders for the new F-150 SVT Raptor, which is topping out the company’s initial sales expectations for the F-150 SVT Raptor this year. Most orders are from the Midwest and Southeast of U.S. The 2010-model F-150 Raptor with 5.4-liter V-8 engines is now on sale; production of an all-new 411 horsepower 6.2-liter V-8 engine begins this spring.
